The Borgata iRewards loyalty program is a great way to quickly earn iRewards Points (iRPs) that can be used at the Borgata and MGM Grand casinos throughout the country. In addition, you also earn Tier Credits (TC), which go toward higher status levels. Here is how you can earn points:

There are multiple ways to turn your points into rewards: they can be converted directly into cash (bad idea though, because of the exchange rate), into bonus money to be played at the casino (better, but still mediocre), exchanged for Express Comps that can be used at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City or other MGM Resorts (better exchange rate), or used to purchase merchandise in the loyalty store.
The iRewards program is independent of the Mlife Rewards program that is available at the Borgata brick-and-mortar location and other physical MGM properties, even though certain iRewards benefits (Express Comps) get redeemed at those places.
Evaluation
Unfortunately, despite a pretty straightforward setup, the M life Rewards program winds up not being particularly great for most players due to the poor rates at which the points are earned and their relatively low value at most tiers.
At all but the top tier the only worthwhile exchange for your points is for $5 Express Comps. Consider if you played enough slots (at the best possible slot game) to get Black status for one month. That would be $25,000 in bets, with at a 98% RTP means $500 lost. The points you earned are just enough for two purchases of $25 in cash back, or about 10% of what you lost. The same points buy 34 $5 Express Comps, which is triple the cash back value.
Playing through your initial maximum deposit bonus on Blackjack or Video Poker does not even yield enough points to get you out of the first tier or a minimum reward. If you choose a good slot to work through the bonus instead, your loss increases from ~$28 to ~$120, but now you are at Red Plus, and the 600 points you earn can be turned into 6 $5 Express Comps. Play just a little bit more to get a bit past Silver level and maybe we’re talking 9 $5 Comps.

While it might seem like all three of these options should be automatic standards, it is disappointing when major sites fail in this regard. Borgata’s support structure is to their credit, and its representatives seem knowledgeable enough and decently prepared, although we have encountered a fair share of frustration on more nuanced inquiries, especially via Live Chat.
Borgata Online has plenty of virtues, including integration with sports and poker, a solid selection of games, and an above-par bonus package for new players. A recent software revamp has nearly elevated the online casino to elite status, but a less than lucrative loyalty program, and middling customer service keeps it from reaching the industry’s top-tier.
