Unibet Sportsbook App Promo Codes & Review 2022

One of Europe’s largest online gaming platforms, Unibet is now making a name for itself in the United States. To compliment its impressive digital sportsbook offering, the company has also engaged in high-profile partnerships with major American sports leagues, cementing its position within the industry. One of the country’s first legal sportsbooks, Unibet is now active in a growing number of states.

Unibet’s streamlined sports betting approach stands out from its American competitors, letting its wide array of betting options speak for itself. Plus, Unibet’s welcome bonus package rivals (and typically exceeds) the competition.

Still, American bettors who are accustomed to more promo-friendly, price-conscious presentation may be disappointed with Unibet’s more buttoned-down approach. This review will offer a comprehensive breakdown of Unibet Sportsbook throughout the U.S.

Unibet welcome bonus package

Unibet does not offer the same welcome back in every state. First-time users are eligible for a risk-free bet but the monetary amount is based on location. In some areas it ranges up to $500, but in others it is restricted to $250. Simply put though, this is one of the better welcome bonus offers available.

The risk-free bet promotion is capped at $500, and the rollover requirement is favorable. Should you lose the initial bet, the risk-free offer comes as cash back, not a sportsbook credit.

This means first-time bettors will either win their bet or be returned their initial wager’s cash value. For example, a losing $20 bet will be refunded $20, a losing $150 bet will be refunded $150 and so on. Bettors should note that initial wagers must be at least $10 to be eligible for the cash-back deal.

Overall, this means first-time customers have access to hundreds in no-risk wagers and can bet comfortably to start their time with Unibet, knowing they are protected with a loss.

In what states is Unibet Sportsbook legal?

Unibet sportsbook is offered in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Virginia, Iowa and Arizona. Eligible bettors physically within those states can register, deposit funds, and start betting. Bettors in other states can register, download the app and access the website, but won’t be able to place a wager. They may also be prohibited from accessing the sportsbook while physically outside one of the aforementioned jurisdictions.

Expect Unibet to enter additional markets in the coming years as more states legalize online sports betting. States such as Colorado, Illinois, and Michigan have all legalized statewide mobile wagering and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Unibet stake a claim.

Key Differences between state markets

Bettors will find Unibet’s minimalist interface and enticing welcome bonus in all its operating markets. However, there are slight variations between state laws. For example, New Jersey bettors can’t wager on in-state college programs such as Rutgers, nor college contests held in-state. Such restrictions don’t exist in other states. Deposit and withdrawal options will also differ, though there’s generally some overlap.

That being said, Unibet sportsbook is pretty similar from state to state. There likely will be no major differences as it enters additional jurisdictions.

Registering an account with Unibet

All customers must first register and receive approval before betting. Fortunately, Unibet makes this process simple.

Who is eligible?

Bettors must be at least 21 years old and eligible to wager under the regulations of the state they look to place a bet in. That means they aren’t blacklisted under that state’s laws or on a self-exclusion list.

Any eligible bettor can sign up for a Unibet account from anywhere in the country, but registrants must be physically present in a Unibet operating state to place a bet.

Getting Started

First, select “Join Now.” Both Unibet’s desktop landing page and mobile app start with this tab, so it’s impossible to miss.

From there, enter and confirm a valid email address, then select a password. Then submit your first and last name, gender, and date of birth.

Unibet then asks for country of residence, address, mobile phone number and two security question answers. Notably, there is a field here for ‘Bonus Code’. You can leave it blank – as long as you’ve used our links on this page, you’re all set.

Finally, click the last few affirmation statements certifying betting eligibility and verify the last four digits of your social security number.

Since it only operates in legal, regulated markets, Unibet is required to keep customer information safe and secure. All Unibet registrants can rest assured their info is protected.

Funding your Unibet account

After registration, bettors will be directed to fund their account. There is a $10 deposit minimum. Unibet offers most major depositing options that are available throughout the U.S. market.

Unibet accepts funds through each of the following:

  • Credit / Debit cards
  • PayPal
  • ACH (Online Banking Transfer)
  • E-Check (via VIP Preferred)
  • Prepaid Card (Play+)
  • PayNearMe
  • Cash (at casino cages in eligible states)

For many bettors, credit or debit cards are the most convenient depositing option, though it may be the most difficult to complete. Notably, Unibet specifically directs Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Santander card holders to try other methods.

Digital payment processors like PayPal are also options, but depositing only works when linked to active bank accounts and can also be subject to other restrictions. Unibet customers can’t deposit using a debit or credit card via PayPal, meaning this is not a viable workaround.

If prohibited through the aforementioned methods, ACH transfers or an eCheck deposit are the next best option. These direct deposits typically don’t run into the aforementioned banking troubles and are just as quick and easy as using a debit or credit card.

The Play+ prepaid card is another option. Users can enroll instantly, then fund the card through their Visa, Mastercard, or Discover credit or debit card.

There are also physical options to receive funds such as PayNearMe, but those vary by state. In New Jersey for instance, bettors can pay at participating 7-Elevens, CVS Pharmacies, and other businesses, but options vary by state and customers should check local availability.

Bettors in New Jersey can also deposit money at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino cage in Atlantic City. Pennsylvania bettors can do the same at the Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre. Unibet also operates a retail sportsbook at the Horseshoe Casino Hammond but doesn’t allow mobile funding through its casino cage at this time.

Bettors’ withdrawal options are limited to the following:

  • ACH
  • PayPal
  • Cash (at casino cages in eligible states)

For most bettors, ACH bank transfers are not just the easiest way to fund an account, but also for receiving payouts. Though Unibet advises customers it can take around five business days to receive funds, it remains one of the best, most straightforward options for both deposits and withdrawals.

PayPal can also receive funds, but these run into some restrictions when linked via credit or debit cards instead of bank accounts. Bettors can only withdraw from PayPal if they have made a qualifying deposit from the same PayPal account. Both take about three business days to receive funds.

For some, the quickest option is to head directly to the casino cage. New Jersey bettors can receive cash payments at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, while Pennsylvania bettors can do the same at the Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre. These payouts are immediate, but they can be inconvenient for anyone not physically near one of the respective facilities.

The withdrawal minimum is $10 online, with no such requirement in person at a casino cage. All digital withdrawal requests are subject to Unibet verification and may require further proof of deposit and/or additional documentation. Bettors may not be eligible to withdraw funds until they submit all necessary verifications.

Bettors should be aware that Unibet sometimes blocks out-of-state access, meaning customers could be unable to submit a withdrawal request outside the state in which they bet. Additionally, while Unibet doesn’t have any rollover requirements for its welcome bonuses, other promotions may have playthrough requirements or other restrictions that must be met before a withdrawal can take place.

The flagship sports betting product of European gaming giant Kindred Group, Unibet’s American offering brings the same, straightforward betting approach that has made it one of the biggest sportsbooks in the world.

Unlike U.S. sportsbooks which focus on a flashy interface, Unibet takes a minimalist approach. Like many other European books that have been legal for decades and already have a veteran customer base, Unibet focuses on efficiency. Kindred has taken that same angle in the U.S. market, which means Unibet presents an easy-to-use interface for more experienced bettors but may not be the best option for a new player just looking for a good deal.

On the desktop site, bettors don’t have to dig far to find what they’re looking for. Lines for the day or week’s biggest event are laid out in clean, green boxes on the home page. To the left are two menus, one that breaks down bets by the most popular leagues and another that runs down all bets by individual sports. Up top, Unibet simply lists promos, a getting started guide, a support tab and login screen.

There are no scrolling banner links to live broadcasts or the days’ odds boosts; Unibet’s software is designed for bettors who know exactly what they want.

Unibet Sportsbook Mobile app

This no-frills approach works even better on the mobile app. While some sportsbooks lose their appeal from desktop to mobile, Unibet’s sleek design makes it even easier to bet with the mobile app.

Like the desktop site, lines on the day’s biggest events are featured on the landing page. All other sports and leagues are easily accessible by a side menu, as are the Support and Get Started tabs.

The app is available for Apple and Android users – check your preferred app store or visit the Unibet site for a direct download link.

Betting lines

Unibet is the former owner and still partner of the Kambi Group, a leading European odds compiler and line making software provider. One of the largest sports betting tech providers in European and now U.S. sports betting, Kambi partners have a reputation for some of the highest “juice” of any sportsbooks.

For example, Unibet may list odds between two football teams at -215 for the favorite and +170 for the underdog. For that same game, bettors at most of Unibet’s competitors could find the favorite at -205 and the underdog at +175. These minor line differences may not seem like much, but they can add up quickly for long-term bettors.

Unibet doesn’t always have the highest juice or vig for every game, but in the long run, its prices are usually less competitive than the going market rate. Bettors in the three Unibet states (Indiana, New Jersey and Pennsylvania) all have multiple mobile betting options and should check other books’ lines before placing a wager with Unibet.

Betting options

Unibet’s simple layout helps shine a light on its stunning array of betting options. At any moment there are hundreds of bets on top U.S. sports, and thousands more on international offerings.

Betting markets

Bettors can easily access the full repertoire of spreads, moneylines and point totals they’ve come to expect at other sportsbooks. Unibet’s live bets are prominently displayed, and it even features a specific link for events that are about to begin.

The day’s most popular events are also highlighted, where bettors can access as many as 100 (or more) prop bets for marquee NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAAF and NCAAB games. Among the most comprehensive betting menus of all U.S. sportsbooks, bettors can access dozens of individual props, team props, game props and quarter, half or period props as well. There are also multiple futures betting options for nearly every sport.

A typical day during the MLB regular season could see more than 1,000 total betting options between the day’s games, while an average NFL Sunday features more than 2,000. For major playoff events, Unibet also has special series market tabs to make these bets even more accessible.

Unibet also makes teasing games extra simple with a bright magenta “teaser” box attached to certain games. For select games there are also dropdowns for special game parlays, such as pairing a team to cover and the game to go over the total, a team to not cover and the game to go under the total and so on.

Game selection

Unibet’s spartan interface is almost a necessity to track its overwhelming list of game offerings.

In addition to all the most popular American leagues and sports, the sportsbook takes bets on dozens of additional leagues and thousands of events and props. This includes Australian rules football, cycling, darts, cricket, handball, rugby and many more.

Soccer, the most bet-upon sport in Europe, is even more impressive; Unibet offers lines on more than 30 countries’ domestic leagues as well as international competitions.

In short, there’s no lack of game selections at Unibet.

Unibet Sportsbook Promos and loyalty program

Beyond its excellent welcome bonus, Unibet’s promotions don’t quite match up with many of its American competitors. Unibet is, again, best used by bettors looking to quickly place a bet, not those looking for extra value.

Unibet offers a handful of weekly profit boosts for select games or leagues. Other, more promotion-oriented books could have a dozen or more new options each day. These weekly deals will cover any single bet on that week’s featured league, for example, which contrasts the narrower bets for similar deals elsewhere. Still, Unibet’s boosts typically don’t exceed 20% and can only be used on stakes less than or equal to $50.

There’s not much else beyond the weekly boost. During the fall, Unibet has offered a 50% boost on eight-leg football parlays, but that means little when bettors aren’t ever likely to hit such an exorbitant parlay to begin with. There is also an ongoing, weekly 30% parlay winning boost for five-leg bets – but again, few bettors can hit these at all.

Other occasional deals, such as a refund up to $25 on a buzzer-beating loss in basketball or a squandered 2-0 lead in hockey, can be interesting but in practicality, aren’t very valuable.

Casino bonuses are somewhat better, but these are only available in select states and may not mean much to a player just looking to bet on sports.

Furthermore, Unibet doesn’t have a formal loyalty program. Anyone looking to wrack up free bets or bonuses through consistent play is better off looking elsewhere.

Customer support

Unibet customers don’t have to look far for support. A “Support” tab is prominently displayed at the top of the desktop and on a side menu on the mobile app, letting customers easily access the book’s help center for most major questions covering deposits, withdrawals, registration, tech support, responsible gambling and much more.

For direct assistance, Unibet offers live chat, a toll-free phone number and email support. Both the live chat box and phone number are available between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. local time, seven days a week. Each method typically offers quick answers to most questions.

Unibet Sportsbook Review Summary
Bottom Line
Unibet’s no-frills interface can be handy for veteran bettors looking to place their bets quickly, but it lacks much of the pizazz that new American bettors have come to expect from a sportsbook. Combined with less competitive lines than the market average and a somewhat restrictive payout structure, Unibet is not typically the best option for most bettors. While it has ample bets types and betting markets to choose from, as well as one of the best welcome bonuses in the industry, there’s little beyond the initial wager promotion that Unibet does better than its competitors.
